1970s “Jean Miro” Lithograph Block Mounted Gallery Print


Joan Miro” painted this composition titled “Sobre Teixims” (which, translated from Catalan, means “On Fabric” or “About Textiles”) in 1973.  It was exhibited at Galerie Maeght, a prominent gallery in Paris, and illustrates well Miro’s unique style with its bright colours, signature shapes and abstract images.

Spanish artist Joan Miro (1893-1983) was born in Barcelona and was an influential 20th century painter, sculptor, ceramicist and print maker.  At the forefront of Spanish modern art throughout most of his career, he was internationally acclaimed. His numerous works can be seen in museums throughout the world.”

This wonderful, block mounted lithograph print is in excellent vintage condition (see pics)!
